I created this 3D spec bumper ad for my insatiable taste for a dark chocolate Kit Kat. This new strawberry + dark chocolate bar was made available for Valentine’s Day. It is so good that I felt compelled to make this. It follows current Kit Kat branding style but I added a few more details for increased reality. Normally those details are not added for ads to reduce comprehension time and visual acuity.
The goal is to remember Kit Kat, not the flavor. This is a 5 second bumper ad so it needs to get to the point quick. I decided on a fast text animation with a pulse beat to match the engaging audio. I wanted to hit the viewer with a Kit Kat pulse beat to reinforce the brand name in a short time frame. This hook allows for greater viewer engagement since they have short attention spans. Great for social media advertising, especially youtube since the top ad is a 16:9. Facebook ads also support 16:9 but will need to create a 1:1, 4:5, and 9:16 depending on which placement you use.
